June Wallpaper Freebie

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

I actually had so much fun making a calendar wallpaper for May that I decided to do it again for June. According to my stats, it seems other people liked it too. I even did it early this time, so we can all start using it on June 1. ;)

Oh, and there's two options this time: with texture and without!

I was playing with all the fun stuff on PicMonkey the other day and threw together this May calendar wallpaper. It's pretty basic, but I like simple wallpapers on my desktop, anything busy drives me a little crazy. In case you want to use it as well, here it is. :)

Crafty Christmas Idea #2

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Good Morning!

Ok, I finally have a great Silhouette creation to share with you guys and it would make an awesome Christmas gift, so it is also my second Crafty Christmas idea! As you may know, Mason is as in love with bass guitar as I am with sewing and crafting. We saw the movie Scott Pilgrim vs the World a few weeks ago, and Mason liked the bass headstock logo on one of Scott Pilgrim's shirts. We couldn't find a good image online of the shirt in the movie, this is about as good as it gets:

So I found a photo of a Fender Precision Bass (his dream guitar) headstock online, imported it into my Silhouette software and started tracing. It was pretty tedious, but not that bad. I got the image put together pretty easily, and yesterday I decided to surprise Mason with a shirt. He showed up right when I was in the middle of making it, but that's ok. I used the smooth light blue heat transfer material that came with my Silhouette machine and ironed it on a plain black t-shirt. It turned out great and he loves it! :)

If it wasn't an experiment, I totally would have saved this for his Christmas gift!

****NOTE: I have this fender precision bass headstock decal image and a guitar version (it's a Fender Stratocaster headstock decal, the main difference is it has 6 smaller heads instead of 4 large ones) that I can send either as a Silhouette Studio file (just toss it on your software and it will cut it out) or just as an image file. If you want me to send you a copy, just fire me an email!!!****

UPDATE

Since I've gotten a number of emails requesting the image, I've decided to just add it and the six string version to this post. This way, you can use it as you please. If you want the Silhouette Studio file, definitely email me and I'll pass it on. Also, you're welcome to use the images in whatever way you can think of, just remember to give credit where it's due (a link back would be great if you post pictures online) and I'd love to see the creation. You can add it to my flickr group, leave a comment with a link or send me an email. Enjoy!
