Martha Doesn't Always Know Best

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Good Morning!

Well, I have finally tried bath bomb-making! Yay! My step-mom brought me a FIVE POUND bag of citric acid, so I had to start using it immediately. I made my first batch and they smell delicious. I used Martha Stewart's recipe. I had no problems at all, but I didn't find that they added much to the water beyond the initial fizz. The cornstarch is essentially pointless. Apparently it makes them float, but I'm not particularly interested in them floating anyways. I would rather not have it in there. I would also add oils to the bomb (beyond the fragrance) next time so that they help make your skin nice and smooth!

I'll let you know how any future experiments go. Meanwhile, check out this recipe if you want to give it a try yourself.

I can't believe you made these!!!! Wow! I'm impressed. I'm sure it's not crazy complicated, but this would fall into the "buy" section of my life! ;) Impressive!

Thanks! I really love trying new crafty things, so I try not to put anything into the "buy" section of my life completely. :)
