Merry Christmas!

First off, I want to extend my warmest wishes for a happy holiday for everyone who is probably way too busy to be reading this today! The three of us our currently celebrating our very first Christmas as just us. I’m expecting a pretty laid back day, which will be lovely.

I also wanted to share a few more of our first professional (aka not taken by a family member) family portraits. I actually came up with this idea before last Christmas, but we just didn’t have time the time or money for it last year. This year I had a handsome Shutterfly credit that was expiring soon and we found an awesome photographer who is just building her portfolio and offered her services for FREE! And we were prepared ahead of time. I’ve thought it would be nice to have family photos done, but we didn’t feel like dressing up in our best clothes and smiling for the camera was what we wanted. Last year onesies were everywhere and I couldn’t help but think of how funny it would be to get some classy family photos on a nice neutral background in some ridiculous pyjamas. The boys loved the idea, so we went for it. It was so fun and I love the silly photos!

We were keeping these a secret until the cards arrived, but there was a mixup at the post office (not unusual, unfortunately) and we never got them the first time. By the time we had them reordered, we found out they wouldn't arrive by Christmas. Darn! Oh well, they are just as fun anyways.

PS - Just before bed time last night we got news that my sister was heading to the hospital to deliver baby #2! What a fantastic Christmas gift!
