{A little slow, I know.}
I started Gavin's baby book before he was born, actually. I kept track of the little details like when I first heard his heartbeat, and took a couple pictures of my huge belly. I'm not a big fan of the books you fill in by hand (blame it on my terrible handwriting), so I decided to design something on my computer. I had his name picked out already, so I made a cute cover with his name and his birthdate. Funny enough, I just put a random date on at first, but it was the right one! A few months later I decided that maybe I would make a scrapbook. I was seriously lacking in the skills to do it and not really ready to fork over the money for all the nice supplies, so that idea went down the drain. I ended up just keeping track of everything I would want in it and leaving it at that. Finally I started hearing about people making photobooks for baby books and I loved that idea.
I ended up going with Mixbook because I had a groupon for them (this is not a sponsored post). There's a lot of creative potential in their software, which I love, and in the end I'm so happy with Gavin's baby book. Here's a few pages from inside...

Ben's book is the type that you write in, which is convenient because I could add things quickly as we went, but I did stress a little at first when I couldn't find the same pen I had used the last time, etc. It definitely doesn't have the polished look that yours does! Ours has illustrations by Eric Carle, though, so that's a big plus in my books!

Thanks! Tara I'll bring it home for you to browse sometime (whenever I remember!). And I would love to see Ben's. The sweet thing about books like that is that they do have your handwriting in them and everything, plus Eric Carle is the best.
