Photographing Toddlers

Saturday, June 4, 2011

I have such a huge appreciation for bloggers who always have fantastic photos of their toddlers. I realize that many of them have a DSLR cameras (which I don't) and live in houses, and therefore have windows on more than on wall of their home (which I don't). But, like me, they probably take 96 photos like this...

...before they get that perfect one!

I think you're probably right on all counts! My husband still prefers film (partly economical) but I take loads of digitals and then just keep a few. Of course, I have a girl and she is significantly less active than most boys I know!

This one rings true, since I was trying to get some pictures of Ben at 9 months yesterday! I have some from 3 months and 6 months, so thought I'd keep up the pattern. This time things were much more difficult - even with a DSLR and decent natural light. He's just wants to crawl around (although he can't yet, so he just belly flops). And he definitely has better things to do than look at me and my camera. Oh well, maybe it will help keep the insane number of photos to a minimum!

Emily, I wonder what it's like to have a girl sometimes. With my little guy it's just go go go go! I'm sure that's toddlers in general, but maybe boys a little more.

Tara, just wait until he can crawl, walk, and then run! You will really appreciate the lighting in your home the! And it will probably be good to have more useless pictures for the sake of not needing to buy 20 extra hard drives to store all the nice photos! :P
