Ottoman Makeover

Wednesday, June 8, 2011

I had some fabric left over from the glider makeover and tufted pillows, so I needed a project for it. Enter this ottoman:

We have had this ottoman for two years and I got it new for only $30. So it's cheap, it has been abused by Gavin (who enjoys flipping it upside-down and pushing it around the house), and it was a bit of an eye sore since our living room has improved so much.

Yep, it has seen better days, which is the reason why it was my latest victim. It was a really easy makeover, I just cut out a long rectangle of fabric and two squares and sewed them all together. Then I added some batting to soften it up and I stapled the fabric in place. I also attached a new piece of fabric to the bottom and rotated the legs so the nicks and scratches are no longer visible (unless it's flipped over).

AND it matches the glider and the tufted pillows on the couch. :)

An extra bonus? This basically cost me nothing because all materials were things already around the house. And free makes any student happy!

0o0o0oooo! I love this! Too bad we don't have an ottoman. I love how it matches -- I'm a big matchy person.

Thanks, Sarah! I'm so pleased with all the matching, I've never had much matching in place. I think I'm turning into a matchy person too!
