Good Morning!

For Mason's birthday last weekend he wanted a chocolate extreme blizzard cake from Dairy Queen. Unfortunately, there were only the three of us around to eat it, so I thought the cost and quantity was kind of over the top. So I came up with my own blizzard cake. I already had everything, but the blizzards on hand so the cake costed less than half the price of a real blizzard cake.

Ingredients:

2 large chocolate extreme blizzards from dairy queen
1 1/4 cups oreo cookie crumbs
1/4 cup chocolate chips, plus a little extra for topping
2 Tbsp chocolate sauce, plus a little extra for topping
1/4 cup white sugar

Directions:

Melt chocolate chips in a medium size bowl. Stir in chocolate sauce, sugar and cookie crumbs. Place cookie crumb mixture in the bottom of a 9 inch round cake pan. Pour blizzards on top of crust and top with swirls of chocolate sauce & some chocolate chips. Cover with tin foil and freeze.

That looks AMAZING!! You have me drooling over chocolate and ice cream at 7:30 am...

I bet it was even better than a "real" blizzard cake, because you don't have that layer of plain chocolate ice cream. It's all blizzard :)

It was awesome to have all blizzard, but I would like to know how to make that chocolate fudgey goo that they have. Then there could be oreo crust, chocolate goo and blizzard. Yum. :)
