Crafty Christmas Idea #4

Good Morning!

I'm sure you guys have all seen these before. They are mini blankets with loops of ribbon around the edges. Apparently babies love them, I have never known of a baby who had one, so I don't know from personal experience. But they looked pretty easy and I wanted to try sewing with minky, so this seemed like the perfect project to make for my little nephew. I tried to make it as stimulating as possible with minky on one side and sort of rough cotton on the other. The cotton has a bold black and white pattern on it as well. Then the tags are different colours and textures as well. Hopefully it will be interesting for the little guy. It was just as easy as I thought, and the minky wasn't hard to sew with. It was just a little messy and when I turned it right side out and ironed it on the cotton side, I kind of flattened some of the raised dots on the minky. Oops! Oh well, it's not so bad that I feel I need to toss it and start over. Here's the pictures...

If you want some instructions on how to make one, just google "Tag Blanket Tutorial", I just did it now and a whole bunch of results popped up. :)

I love it! I've actually looked at lots of these on etsy, but the fabric you chose is way better :) The little guy will love it too!

Thanks! Anna, it was super simple, and I love a project that I can do in an under and hour. Also, it's great when you can pick your own fabrics and ribbons.

And I'm glad you like it, Tara, hopefully your little man will like it too!
