Some School

Good Morning!

I thought I'd share a project from school with you guys today. It really fits with the sort of stuff I like making, which is great. I can't think of a much better assignment than making a t-shirt. Getting marks for that? Awesome. To put this in context a little I'll tell you about the class. It's called Native Art Studio, but it's an issues class (meaning that we discuss FNMI issues a lot more than make art projects). My professor told us to make a t-shirt that said something about political FNMI issues. She wanted it to be an opinion, but something that we were willing to be held accountable for. So we had to make these shirts AND wear them around the university today! Here's what I made. What do you think?

I will show my ignorance and say I don't get it, BUT you did a GREAT JOB on the shirt! I love how there is an outline around the leaf and splattering! :)

Thanks! I used spray paint (meant for fabric) and it bled a lot, so I used a darker red over top. It turned out well, and I had the brightest shirt in class.

And the message just means that all Canadians have a responsibility to the treaties, not just First Nations people.
