My Little Clown

Good Afternoon!

I know we're in the middle of Food Week, but I didn't want to leave this until after halloween. This year I made a costume for the little guy which was lots of fun. I learned from a young age that clown costumes were wonderful for those of us who have cold weather by the end of October because you can pile lots of warm clothes under them. My mom made us clown costumes when we were small, and she always had a few of them in her tickle trunk. The costumes she made were always half one fabric, half another (split vertically). I decided to go my own route a little, so I made a shirt and pant combo (but sewed them together to make a one piece outfit). I improvised the whole outfit, using some of the little guy's clothes as a guide. I just made sure the pieces I cut out were WAY bigger [and consequently, the outfit will probably fit him for a couple more years!].

He got to wear it twice which was cool. Once for the daycare halloween party and once for halloween. I just painted his nose red because he's obviously a little young for much face paint. I did buy a wig, but he hated it. Then I made a hat which he hated equally, so I just gave him crazy hair! Onto the photos...
