Saturday Afternoon

Saturday, April 10, 2010

Hello! It's a quiet Saturday afternoon at my house. I was just thinking about my awesome snack of fruit and chocolate last night and thought it would be nice of me to share my delicious, but simple recipe for chocolate sauce. It's great with ice cream, fruit, or whatever else you want to add a little chocolate to! Plus, it takes 10 minutes or less to whip up.

Ingredients:

2 squares of unsweetened chocolate, I use 'Baker's' brand
1/3 cup of water
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp butter or margarine
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

-Put the chocolate and water in a small sauce pan over medium-low heat.
-Stir constantly until the chocolate melts and they blend together.
-Add the sugar and stir until blended.
-Add butter and vanilla and stir until blended.
-Serve!

It truly is the easiest thing ever and it tastes as good as my mom's crazy chocolate sauce that took half an hour to make (or more) and used crazy things like evaporated milk. You could probably just dump all the ingredients in the pan and stir it until it was blended, too, but I like to play it safe and go step by step.

Here is where I found the recipe last night, thanks to google. I think I'm going to go eat some now.

Have a great afternoon!
