The Little Things

Sunday, November 6, 2011

When I was younger, I had big ideas. I wanted a big, cool life.

Whatever that is....?

These days, I'm getting more and more accustomed to loving the little things.

Things like...

...Gavin recently started asking to sleep with his door open so while I am relaxing on the couch I can hear his little yawns and sighs as he falls asleep.

...Mason and I have been having some amazing conversations lately and it reminds me how lucky we are to have each other.

...even when Gavin is having an "off week", it's ok because it means I get more snuggles.

{old photo alert! mom & gavin snuggles don't often get captured by the camera}

What little things are you loving right now?

That's pretty cool about your little things Erica. Truly they are amazing things to be greatful for. Today, for me, and this is goofy, but our toilet broke yesterday, so I am thankful we have a new one waiting to be put in and that I have a husband who can install it. I am thankful for the room over my head and there's food in the fridge. Not thankful for the snow that I woke up to, but am thankful that I have two legs and arms so I can shovel. Have a wonderful day!!

For probably the first time in years, I'm loving that Christmas is coming. I am loving that I only have 17 kindergarten report cards to fill out this year. I am loving the way Ben looks all bundled up with his monkey touque on, and that Jake will be home from Vancouver today! And last but not least - and it's not a little thing either - but I am loving our Mom who helped me dig the rest of the potatoes out of our garden this morning despite the snow!

:-D Wonderful things to love!

Kids (and time off from work) really make Christmas awesome again, don't they? :)

I am so thankful that I have 2 absolutely amazing, beautiful, smart daughters who let me help them out with odds and ends. I enjoy helping others and who better than daughters whom I adore. I too have learned to appreciate the 'little' things in life. Appreciating the little things makes them bigger. Then the problems in life get smaller.
